The Ned Kelly Discovery Hub in Glenrowan welcomed players and staff from the South East Melbourne Phoenix today, as the team visits the region ahead of their NBL pre-season match at Wangaratta’s new Sports and Aquatic Centre stadium.
During their visit, the team explored the story of Ned Kelly’s Last Stand, right where the historic events took place. Through immersive storytelling and interactive displays, the players had the opportunity to step back in time and engage with one of Australia’s most iconic and dramatic moments in history.
The visit offered a unique cultural experience for the Phoenix, connecting the team with a key part of the region’s heritage during their time in north-east Victoria.
The Hub is always pleased to welcome visitors, especially when it gives them a deeper understanding of Glenrowan’s place in the national story. It was great to see the Phoenix engage with the exhibition and take an interest in the local history.
The Rural City of Wangaratta extends its thanks to the South East Melbourne Phoenix for including the Ned Kelly Discovery Hub in their itinerary and wishes them the best of luck for their game tomorrow night.
